President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has conferred MUET alumnus and renowned figure of Pakistan Prof. Dr. Engr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry with the nation’s civilian honor, ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’ to recognize his monumental services for the country’s public and education sector, contributing to an already-lengthy list of honors, medals, and achievements for the person of his stature.
Prof. Dr. Engr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry is a Pakistani ICT Professional and an electronics engineer. He is the Distinguished National Professor, Meritorious Professor, Emeritus Professor, and former Dean Faculty of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamashoro, Sindh, Pakistan. He is also a member of the BOG Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Engineering Council.
Dr. BS Chowdhry’s academic journey and professional career make an inspirational story for not only his countrymen but for every person associated with academics, technology, or any other related domains.
He started his education at a school of Kantio – a small town of Thar. After completing his first degree in the Electronic engineering discipline in 1983 from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, he did Ph.D. in the field of Microprocessor-Based Intelligent Instrumentation from the school of Electronics and Computer Science University of Southampton, the UK in 1990. He has varied experience in diversified fields such as Electronics, Telecommunication, Microprocessor Technology, Internet of Things, Telemedicine, Wireless sensor networks, etc.
Dr. BS has also received a number of prestigious international awards and honors for his academic and professional work.
