He is a graduate of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) from the Batch of 1998 with a degree in BE Computer Systems Engineering, has been selected by the European Commission for a second consecutive year as an Invited Professor at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne, France. This prestigious appointment underscores his exceptional dedication to academic excellence and research in the field.

In his capacity as an Invited Professor, Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan will play a pivotal role in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Photonics for Security Reliability and Safety (PSRS) program. He will be guiding a diverse cohort of international students, sharing his profound expertise in the domains of Image Analysis and Computer Vision. His contributions are poised to make a lasting impact on the program, enriching the educational experiences of students and advancing cutting-edge knowledge in these critical fields.

Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan impressive academic journey has seen him serve as Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at Salim Habib University in Karachi, Pakistan, for the past six years. In 2023, he received the prestigious Best University Teacher Award, and he was subsequently shortlisted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for a national-level award. These accolades are a testament to his unwavering commitment to education and research.

His international experiences have been equally remarkable. In 2016, Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan was invited as a Visiting Researcher at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where he worked on a project related to image quality enhancement in medical diagnosis. His academic journey has also included postdoctoral research positions in France, where he contributed to projects related to gaming environments and image analysis. His doctoral research at Universite Claude Barnard Lyon, France, focused on real-time facial expression recognition and human visual system modeling. Notably, he was selected by the European Commission for the Erasmus Mundus Masters program in 2008.
