Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) takes immense pride in announcing that its distinguished alumna, Engr. Dr. Fauzia Idrees Abro, has been appointed as the Global Ambassador for Responsible AI for the UK by the Global Council for Responsible AI (GCRAI).

Dr. Fauzia, who currently serves as an Associate Professor in Information Security at Royal Holloway, University of London, was officially sworn in at a prestigious ceremony held at the House of Lords on February 20, 2025. The event brought together global leaders, including policymakers, academics, and industry experts from over sixty nations, to discuss the ethical and responsible development of artificial intelligence.
In her role as Global Ambassador, Dr. Fauzia will contribute to several key initiatives aimed at ensuring AI is developed and implemented ethically and securely. She will play an instrumental role in establishing a Responsible AI Certification Institution, expanding GCRAI’s global outreach, fostering international collaborations, and leading awareness and leadership programs for AI ethics. Additionally, she will support the creation of a Responsible AI Testing Lab to evaluate AI technologies against global ethical and security standards.
Expressing her gratitude for this achievement, Dr. Fauzia stated that being sworn in at the House of Lords was a great privilege and honor. She highlighted the importance of engaging with global leaders who share the vision of ensuring AI remains ethical, fair, and beneficial to humanity.
