Graduate of MUET featured in Stanford University’s list of top 2% global researchers

Dr. Sandeep Pirbhulal, a graduate of the 07 Batch of Department of Telecommunication Engineering, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, has accomplished an outstanding achievement globally by featuring in Stanford University’s Top 2% Global Scientists List owing to his noteworthy research contributions in the fields of IoT, communication, and networks

Dr.Pirbhulal also holds an honor of an achievement award of “Youngest PhD Holder of Tharparkar” given by the Government of Sindh, Pakistan, at the Thar Science Festival, in February 2018. His current research domains include IoT, critical infrastructures security, e-health, and sensor networks. He has published over 60 international journal articles at top-notch venues, including IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, and IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, among others. He has also published over 15 international conference proceeding papers and five book chapters. His remarkable research skills and efforts earned him to gain “Visiting Scientist” position at Massey University (New Zealand) and the University of Calabria (Itlay) in 2016, and 2018, respectively.

Dr. Pirbhulal is an Editorial Board Member of MDPI Signals Journal. He also serves as a Guest Editor of peer-reviewed international journals i-e Journal of Medical Imaging and Health Informatics (JMIHI), MDPI Sensors Journal, etc. He is an active reviewer for exceeding fifteen international journals, such as IEEE Sensor Journal, IEEE Access, IEEE JBHI, IEEE IoT. He has organized multiple workshops in IEEE conferences at the global level; and he is also a member of the organizing committee and TPC of several international IEEE conferences.

Dr. Pirbhulal is currently working as a research scientist at the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Gjovik, Norway. Prior to joining NTNU, he worked as a research fellow at the Department of Computer Science, University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal, and a postdoctoral researcher at Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.
